Actress and singer Yolanda Sey explores Catalonia’s music scene, from musical creation to the moment music is shared with the public. Musicians, producers, journalists, and cultural managers join her on this journey, revealing the richness and diversity of the music sector in Catalonia.
Each episode delves into a key topic of the industry — from composition and music production, through education, live performance, and the relationship between music and other artistic disciplines. Over the course of eight 25-minute episodes, Yolanda Sey immerses herself in the world of composition, visiting artists from diverse styles such as Queralt Lahoz, pianist Albert Marquès, and the electronic music duo B1n0. She participates in educational projects like Cantània, the Versembrant collective, or the Folk School of the Pyrenees, and accompanies legendary professionals from the field of production and iconic recording studios such as Ultramarinos Costa Brava.
The singer shares the importance of performance and connection with the audience alongside talented musicians such as Joan Dausà, Pau Figueres, and Alba Careta. Beyond music creation and performance, Tempo also includes space for disciplines that engage in dialogue with music, such as film and photography, featuring artists like Marc Timón, Kike Maíllo, and Sílvia Poch. The show also highlights the role of media outlets like iCat, Mondo Sonoro, or Radio Primavera Sound in promoting music.
This journey would not make sense without live music. That’s why Yolanda Sey seeks out unique musical events that leave a lasting impression on audiences — from transformative initiatives like Voodoo Club, Un Matí d’Orquestra, or the Mússol Festival, to ESTOPA’s final concert at the Palau Sant Jordi.
The program also includes two special segments: in each episode, a musician answers our question roulette in <<The Jukebox of”>> a musical confessional where artists like Maria Jaume, Niño de Elche, Elena Gadel, or Cala Vento open up about the music that forms the soundtrack of their lives.
Finally, there’s <<Ana Polo’s Anecdotary>>: a segment uncovering the most extravagant moments in music history, hosted by journalist and comedian Ana Polo.
